With age and sometimes due to heredity, the upper eyelid tissue becomes thinner and less elastic, resulting in a drooping effect. In the extreme, this can lead to visual restriction.

Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery or eyelid rejuvenation, is a procedure that can "freshen-up" the eyes as well as the entire face - restoring a rested, more youthful appearance.

Dr. Antoniak performs this surgery using the latest laser technology in our accredited surgical facility under light anesthetic sedation. This technique minimizes bleeding and bruising thereby decreasing healing time and leaves the thinnest of scars.

Through a strategically placed incision, the procedure may involve removal of excess skin and fatty tissue. Because it is placed in the natural contour of the upper eyelid, the incision is camouflaged upon healing. Discomfort is minimal with downtime usually 7 to 10 days.
