Gentle Waves - Photomodulation
In January, 2005, the FDA cleared Gentle Waves® Light Emitting
Diode (LED) Photomodulation® System for the non-invasive
treatment of wrinkles and rhytids.
We are pleased to announce that the Facial Surgery &
Cosmetic Centre of Ottawa is currently the only office in
Eastern Canada to carry this new technology.
Gentle Waves - Photomodulation is a brand new approach
to improving skin that has been damaged by the environment
or shows signs of aging. Gentle Waves® slows down collagen
breakdown and builds up new collagen with no pain, no redness
and no serious side effects. Gentle Waves® stimulates and/or
inhibits cell signaling pathways and rejuvenates skin. It
truly represents the next frontier in anti-aging medicine.
Unlike other laser, pulsed light or radiofrequency techniques
used today, Gentle Waves® delivers very low intensity, non-thermal
light energy to stimulate collagen and reverse the apprearance
of photoaging. The device is easy to use and poses no complications.
Patients are exposed to two panels of 2,000 yellow cascading
LED lights for less than one minute to their face, neck
or chest area.
This stimulation regains a healthy and more youthful appearance,
and make skin appear softer and smoother. It diminishes
the appearance of unwanted skin redness. An optional Euro
treatment includes gentle exfoliation of the skin prior
to the LED session.
