The surgicentre O.R. is equipped with technically-advanced surgical equipment including the latest technology Space Lab cardiac monitoring system, as well as state of the art sterilization and injection control. We offer the most advanced anesthetic equipment and services of highly qualified anesthesiologists as well as advanced post-operative monitoring.

"Twilight" anesthesia will be used throughout your surgical procedure. An intravenous will be started through which the anesthetist will administer both sedation and analgesia. Sedation medication will keep you pleasantly drowsy or sleeping throughout -- whichever is your preference. Analgesic medication will control any discomfort which may be associated with the procedure. When the sedation and analgesic have taken effect local anesthetic, such as that used during dental procedures, will be used to completely "freeze" the surgical area.

Once the surgery has been completed you are placed in the recovery area where a Registered Nurse will look after you until some of the sedation and local anesthetic have worn off and you are ready for discharge. Due to the use of twilight anesthetic you will have to arrange a ride home as well as a responsible adult to be with you on the evening of your surgery.
